Compile Arduino code online, on your device

Circuitera’s Verify action runs an AVR-GCC compiler through WebAssembly. It produces firmware for supported Arduino targets rather than merely checking the appearance of your code.

USB features require a supported desktop browser and your permission.

What Verify does

Choose your board, then press Verify. Circuitera compiles your sketch and project source, resolves the supported library dependencies, and links the firmware. Build Output contains compiler details; Problems makes diagnostics easier to navigate. The first build may need to download compiler assets, while later builds can reuse local assets and compile caches.

Understand the result

A successful build reports flash use and static RAM use. Static RAM figures do not account for every runtime allocation or stack requirement, so leave headroom. If compilation fails, inspect the first useful error and its file and line number. Missing headers, unsupported libraries, and syntax errors need different fixes; reconnecting a USB board will not repair a source-code error.

Target AVR firmware, not desktop programs

The Arduino compiler targets the boards supported by Circuitera, including Uno R3, classic Nano configurations, and Mega 2560. Select the correct target and bootloader settings for your hardware. This compiler is separate from Terminal’s general C++ execution path; a desktop program using iostream should be run in Terminal, not sent to an AVR board.

Preparing to work offline

While connected, open the IDE’s Offline controls and prepare the offline compiler. Wait for the required assets to finish caching before going offline. Browser storage can be evicted, so offline readiness is not a substitute for keeping exported backups. Compile success alone does not upload firmware; Upload is a separate action.

How it works

  1. Select the MCU/board that will run the sketch.
  2. Press Verify; compiler tools load on demand.
  3. Read Problems and Build Output, fix errors, and verify again.

Frequently asked questions

Can Circuitera compile Arduino code online without a board?

Yes. Verify compiles locally using WebAssembly and does not need a serial connection. The first run needs compiler assets to be available.

Does Verify upload my code?

No. Verification builds firmware and reports diagnostics. Upload is a separate action that needs a connected, permitted serial port.
